A few words about the author:
Andreas Xenikakis has graduated from the Political Science’s Department of the Law School in Athens. He works as a lawyer in Athens and in the past has worked as columnist at political daily newspapers. He is married with Katerina Christopoulou, notary and they have two offsprings, Elli who is a lawyer and Antonis who is a law student.
Andreas Xenikakis wanted to help on his own way the Greek SOS Children’s Villages.This is a story of a child that grew up in an institution and accomplished to discriminate while overcoming all the difficulties. Greek SOS Children’s Villages have no financial contribution for the edition of this book. The benefits from the commercial disposal will be fully donated to charity. Publisher is the Greek SOS Children’s Villages, therefore children themselves.
Instead of prologue:
When you enter an institution’s door, you face sad kids’ looks. Prepare yourself for difficult questions and surprising answers. Prepare yourself for conversations with kids that were compelled to adultness in their very early age. This is a story of a child that grew up in an institution and accomplished to discriminate while overcoming all the difficulties. Author’s goal is to awake adults’ consciousness and give hope to children.
Apart from the author, at the event were present the president of the Greek SOS Children’s Villages Anastasios Vrettos, the author- journalist Eleni Gika and the journalist Sotiris Xenakis. Quotatios of the book read the actress Iro Moukiou.
